There was no doubt in my mind, since I was about 11 years old, as soon as I knew there was availability to have surgery for epilepsy, I kept saying that I was going to have it. I was going to have MRI scans, neurologists, and go through it step by step. Everyone kept asking me, “Are you sure you want to do this?” and it was like, 200% yes, cause I feel like I’m waiting for the next time I’m going to have a seizure or someone is going to pick on me. Or I’ll never be able to drive. There were just so many limitations, that I just thought “I’m going to have this surgery, and the more positive I feel about it, the less implications there’s going to be”. Since the surgery, I’ve only had a couple of seizures, but I was diagnosed with diabetes, Type I, six months after. So that could be due to my diabetes, that I’m having hypos or hypers. I’m on a tiny dose of medication for my epilepsy, which I know I’ve not had an epileptic seizure for at least one year now I’m controlling my diabetes as well. So it was just a case of keeping both under control.
