It’s only now over a decade later I realise just how much the loss of my car contributed to my loss of independence and confidence. I’m at the stage now when lock down made no difference to my lifestyle I rarely leave the house. Literally for weeks at a time except for hospital appointments. Seizures unpredictable with no warning, my husband is very protective and extremely risk adverse. I have waves of feeling “brave” and wanting to try things out. I’ve learnt to accept it doesn’t always work out but proud of myself when I do try. I think it is a case of literally small steps to leave house – for no reason other than a walk, then try it alone, building up from 10 minutes
