My name is Nicki Garrard. I live in Sudbury and I am Chair of the West Suffolk branch.
I have three adult children and two grandchildren.
I was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy when I was two years of age. My seizures are ongoing, but with the help of EA 20 odd years ago, have built up the confidence I needed to live a ‘normal lifestyle’. My parents didn’t understand the condition and really didn’t want too!
In 1997, I did my first AV course, after starting a branch in Sudbury,which closed in 2008/9. EA then had a phone call from a ESN at West Suffolk Hospital and the West Suffolk branch was born.
I’m very much looking forward to this refresher course, so I can carry on helping others understand and give more up to date information about the condition
