Hello, my name is Richard and I have started this course after being contacted by an epilepsy nurse (I think) who asked if I would be interested in working through the course.
I was diagnosed with epilepsy back in November last year after having a seizure whilst in my bed at home and being taken to hospital that day.
Thankfully I haven’t had any further seizures as bad as the one in November, other than several absence seizures!
I was a PCV Driving Instructor, but lost my licence due to the seizure. I also lost my car licence too, but am hoping to get it back soon. I also lost my job due to not having a licence any more.
One of the main things I am noticing is that my memory seems to have been affected by this. My wife is regularly having to remind me of things that I have forgotten.
My main reason for doing this course is to try and learn more about epilepsy and how it will effect my life in the coming years.
