This section made me aware of how much i’m still in denial about my seizures and i guess my epilepsy in general. Sometimes i think its because if i admit it exists then i have to accept that i have to change some aspects of my life that i don’t want to and also the more real it becomes the more i just want to hide away and cry. The other reason i think i struggle is because of others, their ideas, their perceptions, their miss informed views, i’v found that whenever someone does ask me how i am its often meant in a general sense and sometimes its so they can talk about themselves.
in 3 days it will mark the one year anniversary of my diagnosis, today is my 31st birthday and yet all i can think about is the upcoming date my life changed. Maybe its time i accepted that i have what i have and be honest with myself and others about the frequency i’m actually having seizures.
