I think I have been very lucky with work. When I had my first seizure and ended up in coma I had a job working away a few days a week in London. Thankfully when I was ill I was at home with my wife who called 999, had this had happened while I was working away I don’t think I would be writing this today.

After returning to work I decided I couldn’t carry on with working away as the stress, anxiety and tiredness it was causing me was building up and I was scared of getting ill.

I then got really lucky as a job came up back at home, I was really honest with the MD about my condition and he was really supportive and I got the job.

I love my job and the place I work, I don’t really talk about my eplilepsy with my team and colleagues as I still feel shame and a fear of judgement/pitty.

While getting ill was rubbish my new job and whole work life balance change has been amazing
