Hi, I’m Angelika Barre and I live in Shrewsbury. I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 10 years old. I suffer with drug resistant Primary Generalised epilepsy. I started having absence seizures however afer a few years I also started getting tonic clonic & myclonic jerks. Unfortunately after trying most medication they have never managed to control my seizures. I try hard (from my own experiences) to talk a lot to people and raise awareness of epilepsy. I believe it is part of me, therefore never hide it away. Over the years I have talked about epilepsy over local radio and newspapers, been part of a short film, talked to a university and last april trekked with my husband along The Great Wall Of China all to raise awareness of epilepsy. Talking & meeting people over the years, just shows me how little is known through out sociey about the condition. Through doing this AV training I’m hoping I can help change this. Even it helps one person understand, thats good enough for me!!
