Hi. I’m Daryl
I am 55 and have had epilepsy since I was 32. I was waiting at Heathrow airport to travel round the world with a friend when I suddenly went into a 25 minute Major seizure, which nearly killed me. I continued having up to 10, 20 minute seizures a day for the next 20 years. I was given various medications, some reduced the fits others paralysed me and others made me go blind. Not fun.

I am now on a cocktail of Kepra, Lamotrogine, Clobazam, Mirtazapine, Citalopram and others that I can’t remember. I now have absences which can last a few minutes or even a day. My memory is very bad and sometimes why I bother. The only thing that has stopped me trying to kill myself again is my wife. I’ve lost track of how many times I have actually died in an ambulance.

I hope you are all well. Take care it could always be worse?
