Hello,
Sorry I think I have been confused about the communication.
I have been epileptic for 42 years after suffering viral encephalitis.
My seizures have never been controlled.
Over the years I have tried many drugs but have suffered greatly from side effects. When I was in early 40’s I had a craniotomy when the surgeon hoped to remove the area which caused me to have seizures. This was not possible as it was too near my audio centre and would have caused more harm than good.
Several years later I had a VNS implant. This has been fairly successful but I still have approx. 14 seizures monthly.
I am on my 3rd VNS and at present trying a new medication prednisolone. Over the past 3 months no side effects so i feel very positive. Hopefully once I am at max. dose things will be better.
I will always try for something else to improve my quality of life and that of my family and friends all of whom I would not survive without.
