Hi I’m Andrew. I was diagnosed earlier this year at the age of 60. Have had a couple of tonic-clonic seizures and some focals. Couldn’t believe it as my elder daughter had been diagnosed with epilepsy at 17 leading up to exams. She is now 19 at uni and apparently under control. Both of us felt a little trapped during covid-19 lock down and being unable to drive. Also, didn’t feel as if we could walk the dog by ourselves. I’m now back at work as a teacher but it is taking me about 2 hours both ways to travel the 26 miles by public transport. Management and colleagues have been very considerate and supportive. Have had to make changes about how I move around school and work by myself during my non-contact periods.
Reading the stories I can see that I have been lucky to only have had 2 seizures. I’m hoping that my meds are helping me but there is always this nagging doubt.
