Good morning,
I am Sam, I was diagnosed with epilepsy in October 2020, but it seems to have been caused by measles when I was a child. I was thought to be a day-dreamer, had problems with bladder control, was mis-diagnosed with migraine at seven – treatments never worked and I kept saying I didn’t see flashing lights. Then misdiagnosed with ME at twenty five. I relinquished my driving license two and a half years ago, having had a two hour ‘absence’ on Stockport Railway Station. I work full time, from home at the moment. I have medication, it was changed when I called my GP and explained how ill the first stuff was making me feel. I am having seizures at least twice a week.
Investigations also uncovered an incidental meningioma, June 2019 – the letter arrived the day before I flew to Poland for my son’s wedding. The meningioma has not always been there – I had a clear scan a few years ago, I have a scan booked for next week. I suspect it’s doing no harm and that there is plenty of room in my massive skull for this interloper and my brain to co-exist and never actually meet.
I am confused by my epilepsy diagnosis.
