The type of epilepsy that I have falls into two or three different categories, because I have tonic-clonic seizures (which are the full convulsions) but I also have absence seizures. They can vary from just a couple of moments of being unaware of what is going on to lasting a little bit longer. But the recovery time for my seizures is very long. It can take anywhere between 24 and 48 hours for me to feel OK again.

My seizures when I was epileptic, they could be anything from mild – just having 10 second blackouts – to full-on throwing my body about, biting my tongue, taking chunks out of my inside of my mouth.

I have tonic-clonic seizures and absence seizures. And, I don’t know whether it’s my left arm or right arm goes up, that’s how my mum and my family and friends have come to recognise that I’m going to start having a seizure.
